shortcut to the sun

I love this episode of the simpsons where Homer unwittingly forgets to correct the Y2k bug in the plant's computers and it causes a chain reaction that destroys all computers and electical appliances.

Then, since everything is going nutso, like in Maximum Overdrive, the government decides to load up a Spaceship with the smartest and wisest of the population. This group, of course, contains Lisa and Marge, while Bart and Homer get on another spaceship that's filled with the worst, most annoying people still around. Among them are Rosie O'Donnell, Paulie Shore, Carrot Top, and Tom Arnold .... headed directly for the sun.

I love this idea. Is it just me, or is this an immensely cool notion. We'll take Rosie O'Donnell, Leo DiCraprio, NSync, Carrot Top, Oprah, Dan Quayle, et cetera, et cetera ... stick them on a rocketship and launch aimlessly out into deep space.

I've always wondered what the effects of a mass "migration" of annoying cultural characters would mean for the world.

For once, I wouldn't have to see another fucking book sold EVERYWHERE .... with flowers on the front ... in pastel colors ... and approved with the OPRAH'S BOOK CLUB stamp of "greatness". No more fucking teen-a-pa-looza shite.

You have to ponder that life .... a life with much less of society's more annoying figures. Ah, a man can dream, can't he?!
